This disturbs me on so many, many levels. First of all this is not a one-time incident. Tree sweaters are popping up all over Denver. You can’t blame the hippies—they’re all the way in Boulder. And it doesn’t really get that cold here in Colorado (contrary to popular belief we are not actually Alaska) so you can’t say the trees are getting cold. And even if they are…they’re trees. They’re made for that. That’s why they lose their leaves in winter. And it’s summer now so why is the sweater still on?? And it’s not like a purse-dog. This tree had no say in the 70s era orange and brown crazy stripes it’s wearing. Its’ tree friends probably make fun of it! But this speaks to a much larger issue: this is not unique to Colorado.
